How many carry a portfolio of work completed etc with them to quotes to show customers.?

I used to years ago but for some unknown reason stopped.. how many of you do it and how often do you update it..?

Not yet for me, although I always have pictures of my last job on my mobile phone.

I've got some pics on a well know 'find a local trademan' website, so I can direct customers there if they wish, and view my ratings.

Working on my own website soon.

I must admit I do carry a portfolio with me to jobs, I don't have a web-site, yet. but I do point potential customers to the TF. to view my work.

I know I need to get a web-site, as my portfolio needs updating every week:thumbsup:

I always felt stupid, the few times I've offered pictures that is, now I never offer, the web site is still down but used to point people there if they wanted to see works that I had carried out.

no web site no portfolio. i just use TF if people want to see my work but most have already seen it that's why they've called me.

I do. I let them look at it while i size up the job. It also gives the customers some ideas as to borders ect.(mostly having it vertical as a center piece). I find it helps on some jobs.

I just refer them to the wbsite but if they have no PC i'll show them my portfolio in the van. I think the website looks more proffessional and its that which secures the job! I think its good for customers to read about you and the company rather than just pictures.

i went ahead and made a portfolio up to show customers while i sized room up etc and in all honesty i didnt find it helped infact i felt some customers thought it was odd i was offering them and one even said no your ok lol still got the job mind i just send them to my website now i thought it was going to be a really good idea as well

I've got all my pics in albums on my iPad, always take it with me on quotes so people can see them if they want to. Pictures can be handy to give people ideas if they haven't chosen a tile yet, as well as being able to show off your work.

Always show my portfolio of jobs - if for no other reason it explains the range and designs possible from standard materials.

I don't, usually if people ring me it's via recommendation and as long as I don't bang in a greedy price the job is usually mine.

I'm the exact same as Bri. Everything is on my iPad & can more or less show them what they are looking for or how something will look. I'm snap happy at every job

I have a portfolio that I show to customers as I measure up, but same as you Doug, the phone call is normally through a recommendation so they've already seen my work. Saying that, I still show them as it can give them ideas as to colours, layouts borders and even the suites and shower valves if they like them.

I have a portfolio which I leave at my local tile shop, my website, my business Facebook page and also my iPhone if they haven't seen any if the above!

I need to have a sort through my pics, there are quite literally, thousands! Sometimes I can't find what I'm looking for! Photo stream is brill, take pics on phone in the day, then they magically appear on the iPad at home.

Most of my work is also recommendations but it could have came from a job that was either joinery, electrical, plumbing, tiling, plastering or decorating so it could be a variety of things that they may want. That's where iPad comes in.

I've just over 8500 pics from my previous work that customers can choose from. I don't use photo stream. I prefer to manually do it when I'm free. I wait till I have approx 1000 on my phone then I sort it into customers on the PC, delete the rubbish pics, rotate where need be or even resize if the file is greater than 2mb so I can upload to my website. I'm to OCD to let Photostream do the work lol. I'll then plug in the iPad & click Sync.

Mine us on my lap top which has recently broke ... (Sad face)

Get yourself an iPad mate. There's nothing worse being with a customer, waiting on it bootin up, then it wants to do virus checks, spyware checks etc etc.

iPad, unlock, photos...Bobs your aunty!

I have portfolio in the van but most of the time customers have seen my website or I just refer them to it.

Just refer customers to the website at the minute but most are recommendations anyway. Have an iPad with work pictures but haven't brought it with me to quote yet.
