Doing a 45msq floor this week, i know i'v got to put a movement joint in, but the problem is that its chiseled edge porcelain, in a opus pattern and a straight joint will look terrible. I was thinking would it be possible for me to use the grout joint and just fill it with silicon so the movment joint follows the pattern, it is all on the same type of substraight. any advice will be apreciated, thanks.

Is this just one room?
If you assume an expansion joint every 8 to 10 m grids, then I don't believe that you actually need to install an expansion joint for this area, just leave a perimeter expansion joint and you should be fine.

Phil, I've done this many a time with Bella Opus patterns just using a matching silicon, and as Dave says not over an exisiting joint
