March 2012, work update...

Just an update thread to see if things have picked up and if you are happy enough how 2012 is going so far for you...?

Just picked up a full bathroom today but in process of doing own bathroom as its quietened down a bit. Jobs throughout April though and a few in the pipeline

busier than normal in jan, quiet feb,march looking better, lets hope it carries on in that vein

poor jan & feb was in the process of doing some adverts and fliers , to build up domestic side of business , but one of my contacts as come good on commercial side so should be busy for a few months , touch wood , down heathrow next week

Going well, even had a call from an old customer from 7 years ago where I done some tiling wanting a price...

been good so far this year i got a feeling its gonna be a good year for us all. I work for a few big wig clients and there all positive the country's getting back on track there starting to buy and build again witch means more work for us all :8:

im hoping so too....a local developer told me the banks are willing to discuss lending money for the 1st time for 4 years with him and also my fathers property viewing business is very busy again and houses are starting to shift again he said......lets hope we could see the back of this sooner than thought

Mad busy still! It's been pushed back a few times but finally start an 1100 metre floor on Monday. Loads of other things on, all commercial and working ridiculous hours but not complaining

Going well, still booked into May and looking at a full house with 4 bathrooms next week for June/July.

No problems, apart from fitting everything in. I've got work up until the end of May and some things in the pipoeline for after that.

FOC mate.....Mum has had cancer twice now and various organs removed. In good health though luckily, but want to treat her to a nice wetroom of her own :smilewinkgrin:

I've been really fortunate and not stopped working through the whole recession, but as my old man (a tiler too) says don't keep your eggs in one basket, and because i'll work anywhere my basket spreads from london across the Midlands all the way to North Wales!
I not done decent commercial job for 3 years tho, and i was getting loads before that, so hoping that fires up again as love the challenge of big commercial areas.

been a busy 3 months with a few flat spots, havent had a single job that weve been able to complete without endless return visits and messing about, seems par for the course at the moment (all commercial jobs). Money is good (pre-recession earnings) but getting paid is hard work, I have accepted 60-90 days payment terms to be normal, and that is depressing!

I've just started back out on my own after being made redundant at the start of the year. Wasn't prepared for going back out on my own just yet but have picked up my 3rd job of the year and starting it Monday morning. I haven't stuck an advert out yet, it's just been a bit of word of mouth.
Anyway, reason for my post really was i should get finished at the job i'm on at the moment tomorrow or Thursday. Was thining of putting it in on JOTM and was wondering when it opens for posting? It's only a small bathroom refurb and nowhere near as glamarous as some of the woek i've seen here but i'm interested in just getting opinions if nothing more.

Been a good year, started another plasterer this week and maybe a young lad next week. Got a big house to start next week, full plaster and tiling 3 bathrooms and hallway floor,so, so far so good
