Very informative day, good to meet some of my fellow forum members and overall well worth the trip up.

Details about the new products were very helpful and I'm sure I'll be using them very soon.

yeah was a good day sean and as you say good to be able to put a face to some of the members:smilewinkgrin:. i think an earlier start in the classroom would have been better then we could have had more time on the practical side of things, overall well worth the travel

Eh up lads, good seeing everyone at Mapei today, even if it was like an AA meeting for us tilers!!!
I have a question, i see to be unable to get any of the Mapei products as cheap as anyone mentioned today, i did hear lots mentioning a supplier that sounded like CTI?, does anyone know who this supplier is????

it may be ctd Ceramic Tile Distributors | CTD, Bathroom Tiles, Kitchen Tiles, Floor Tiles etc. my local tile shops don't stock a lot of the mapei products which is a shame.

Tile Giant stock a lot of the products, not sure if there's one local to you though. Some of the DIY sheds stock the more basic products too. Screwfix do the grouts mailorder, not sure if they do the adhesives but worth checking coz they deliver next day

A useful day not a wasted day. Not a Mapei hard sell either. Full marks to them.
Also there was a mix of both newbies and pros who were willing to share their experience.

And tho it wasnt part of the Ceramic training, that epoxy floor seemed ideal for some applications, so I might see if I can get to go back when that training day comes around !

Your nearest CTD is Kings Nortone. Mapei around here is stocked by a few retailers you only need to ask.

I have never used or seen epoxy being used.
A bal rep visited our college when i trained and asured us of a epoxy demo.
Would they do anything like this ??

Any products you wish to see can be demonstration in the prep area. They have area waiting to be tiled, wooden trays to receive SLC, Walls so you can spread adhesives etc....This way you can actually try for yourself, a true hands on experience.
