I argued for constructive advice to be offered, but it has been decided that we can do that in every thread except JOTM

DAZ..
You seem to forget the drift of what the thread in elite was about..
Do we have to bring this up again in the arms..?
The JOTM thread in the elite was supposed to be sorted..?
what do you need clarifying..?
What will make you happy..? do we need to close JOTM full stop.?
guys in the forums arms are more likely to vote based on skill required to finnish the job rather than the appearance alone. I think it may be worthwile for general public to see job of the month but perhaps only after the winner has been chosen by those in the arms who will be in a better position to appreciate the skill and craftmanship that is required to complete the whole job rather than basing purely on how it looks to the untrained eye.
An educated tiler/ tradesperson will notice good prep, good setting out, intricate cuts such as mitred edges, bullnoses and cutting acuracy etc etc
I can say from my own experience that when I have voted I havent voted purely on the best looking/ fanciest pictures but also base my vote on the skill and efforts that would need to have been applied to the job. I think general public may lack this ability.
so i guess what I am saying is that I think they should see the winner and all entrants after voting has been done.
Yep, Phil, I came to that conclusion, too, a few minutes back...![]()
