Client will always ask how is it going? At that point it is time to say quite well but it would go even better if I had a cup of tea
Most of the time customers have simply forgot or dont want to get in the way or are just shy once you have broken the ice the cups of tea will start flowing

and her daughter was in the house.

have suffered a shock.

I always seem to use extra adhesive on jobs where the customer didn't make any tea.

Best job I ever did was a full lounge painting refurb for a friends Mum and Dad (word gets around when you are handy!) and for lunch I had a full roast dinner laid up for me with a freshly poured ice-cold can of beer. Sweet! Oh - and some jam roly poly and custard for pudding.

A friend of mine did some tiling for a lord and lady at their stately home. He was served lunch every day (along with a choice of newspaper and wine) by their butler! He said they were a lovely appreciative couple too.

Before spacer pegs we used match sticks or card!
The customer would often ask what they were for?
'Every time I stop for a cup of tea I mark where I've got too'
We always have kettles,cups, powder milk, sugar,coffee and tea for my son!
And yes never refuse the first cup offered - it may be the only one.

I do work for a mate who has a small building firm, generally small but high end refurbs. He and all his lads have custom made t-shirts and hoodies with the instructions to how they take their brews printed on the back. Genius idea which I've been meaning to steal for years.
