........... , totally random , works when it wants to , no pattern at all , the car is 18 months or so old and still under warranty , how many times would you let a dealer look at it and pronounce no fault found before you wanted a new car , i should add it is a motability car so it would be them who would say yes to a new one or not :incazzato:

The worse it will do is boil up and do head gaskit which will get you a new car any way

Can be anything from a sticky thermostat too a loose connection mate.

Ignore advice just read fan not which one lol.

What car is it mate?

its going into the dealers for the first ime on tuesday , i reckon from past experience i know it will come out with no fault found , the last car i had had issues that dragged on for months , i am determined not to let it happen this time

its leased from motobility

why are you getting it repaired

i'm not , it is going to the dealers to get looked at , however i suspect because of the randomness of the fault there is a good chance it wont show up when they look at it :mad2:

Is in the interior air con / cooling fan, and is it a vauxhall?

yes it is the interior fan and no it is a ford cmax 🙂

of course the fault did not show up , motability have said give it back to the dealers and tell them to keep it till it is sorted , they are going to love that

Paul

I've had cars like that. I had a Fiat Seicento that felt like the clutch pedal broke in half every time you changed gear. The Fiat dealer put 2 new clutches in, 3 new pedals and numerous other things before Fiat UK finally admitted that it was just a "nuance" of the car and every other Seicento on the road was the same :mad2:

My corsa had to have a new valve in the fuel pump the other week because of a known fault. I asked the Vauxhall dealer why I hadn't been notified, and they said Vauxhall UK had not deemed it urgent enough for a recall. Losing power between 3000 and 4000rpm whilst overtaking in 5th gear wasn't important enough then :mad2:

Oh and hubby's Volvo had the most horrific intermittent grinding noise. It went into Volvo twice and they couldn't find anything wrong with it (the fault never showed up when they had it). So after me giving his lordship grief (like this :incazzato🙂 for deciding to stop the car to call the AA out because he was too scared to keep driving it whilst I had an upset stomach and just wanted to get home and crawl into bed, he finally found a forum in Australia that had successfully figured out what the grinding noise was. He took his car back to Volvo, showed them the forum information, they found the problem and sorted it out. No trouble since.

Funny how we buy the cars and we have to tell them how to fix them. I didn't think it worked that way to be honest as I'm not a car mechanic :nono:

just been out to see if it was working , it wasnt , so i have just made my first proof video in case anyone thinks i am lieing about it

hi paul is this car leased to you from motability??? how long have you had it? the dealer does give you a loan car when its in. my wife says phone the customer care line at motability and get the to put you in touch with customer solutions team and they will follow this . up for you. ( she was incharge of the care team for 5 years)
