Help what adhesive dilemma

Hi
I am fixing hadibaker 250 6mm to 18mm weyrock T&G and have conflicting views on the adhesive to use
Some say flex addy some say non flex addy which one is preferable
also which manufacturer Bal Mapei etc.
since I am not a pro tiler I am looking for an addy that has a good work time and doesn't go off too quick
Any advise would be well received

Hi
I would like to know what type of adhesive to use to bed down the Hardibacker on to the T&G

I presume that a flexible adhesive and grout for the tiles

The tiles will be 30cm x 30cm x 1cm porcelain

Hardie state a non flexi would suffice but like others I use flexi, the addy is only there to take out any undulations on the floor.

Get a tiler to do it
Not really the answer the Op was looking for!
As the forum is here for all skill levels of interested parties, then good advice pertaining to their enquiry requires a courteous response.

You noticed!
But what is real in this modern world of technological communications, where being flexible or stiff is not solely the issue of joints at 6.30 in the morning.

I use the same adhesive for both cement board and tile and is always flexible fast set .

What's wrong with that response?

As its a public forum that's the reply he got

And 6 years ago I may have posted it myself, however some may say I've mellowed and some may say 'your not real'!
But if someone has the time to learn and be interested in our trade then the least we can do is help. That way we may not have to keep going back to repair shoddy workmanship, and customers who are aware of what is required prior to being conned is surely good for the integrity of our trade.
Just my view of course.

I'm glad you've mellowed,I obviously better take a look at myself then!
On another post I have gave advice and you have queried that advice
You haven't done the job in question by your own admission
So explain to me why it's ok for you to give out advice but not me?

All for giving out advice and opinions - that's what a forum is about. Telling someone to get a tiler rather than the difference in adhesive types for fixing Hardie tile backer or which you prefer, doesn't relate to the friendly atmosphere that the forum tries to manifest.
If I didn't comment to an enquiry on a particular topic then it's most likely because I had nothing different to add then already posted. If I questioned a post and in this case it was yours then I obviously didn't agree - my choice and then open to discussion.

John is that you , john john ??

Some folk think they were born tradesmen and forget we all have had to start somewhere, not me though , i know everything !!!
Well apart from women, i will never understand women !

So what I gather then John it is ok for you to give out "advice"

But my advice is questionable

The bit that sticks in my pipe is you haven't done the job the op posted
So how can you question my advice?
I know there is some intelligent guys on here with great knowledge

I find it a bit bizarre you are quoting me but you come away with comments like "can get 100 pencils for £3

Now that's questionable advice

Can we keep this thread on track for the original poster please...
