hello All
I am redoing my kitchen and have taekn up my old kitchen tiles to level the floor and put doen new tiles. However under the old rubbish cracked tiles i have found some lovely original terrecotta ones that would be great to restore and keep!

The problem i have it that most of them are still covered in mortor and cement and its solid- i have been chilesling away for 20 mins and done about 1/3 tile!!

Is there an easier way of doing this or should i just recover them again??

Thanks in anticipation of all your hints and tricks!

Hi and welcome.....Terracotta can be soft and hacking the old adhesive off may cause more damage than good if stuck that well, others may have a method for removal.

Hi & Welcome. Unfortunately, there is no easy way to remove it. As said, damage can be caused to them if using harsher methods like a chisel SDS. I think your best bet is to be patient. If you really want to keep them, take your time. You'll get there eventually!
