Hardie backer board or moisture resistant plasterboard - Tile Advice

Got a wet room to tile inside the shower area and I'm unsure which substrate to use either Hardie backer board or moisture resistant plasterboard, two walls r brickwork one wall is studded

Either or but both will need to be tanked so unless you have weight issues I would use plasterboard
Better still if your at that stage then get waterproof thermal boards & use them instead.

Yeah you get them 12mm to tie into existing plasterboard.
Marmox or Wedi, there's loads of others out there also.
Tank the corners & screwheads & you are good to go.
You could tank the whole lot it won't matter as its a true belt & braces approach.
