i there ive got a job and the client wants glitter grout , has anyone ever used it threw cement based grout as i dont want to use eboxy ? thaks billym7:mad2:

hi billy,from what the local shop have told me tilers are using it mixed in standard grout, not sure what the finish looks like though

Can't see the point with that Jamie, your'd only see what on top of the grout the rest would be wasted.

it doesnt really work that well in cement grout, try the epoxy Billy they are not like they used to be these days there are a lot better to use

I used it a few weeks ago on a kitchen splashback. The good news is that the MapeiDesign epoxy grout is easy to work with - although dont mess about, mix and use within 1 hour. Add two sachets of glitter when you mix, and applying is dead easy with normal grout float - but everything gets covered in glitter. Easy to clean off excess with clean water if done within that hour - so only mix what you can use in an hour - a 3kg tub suits most folks.

Finally the downside - the grout will probably cost more than the tiles and adhesive combined - but hey - the customer is willing to pay....
