we could ask the management to clean this thread up a bit and only feature the videos and thier titles (Ie DECOUPLER TEST!).........and create a new thread for each subsequent test and get the videos added here.......so all the test videos are in one place......

that way there is a new thread people can comment on....as well as an archive (of the tests!) and me and you (gary) and ray being silly......Sorry read informative!!!!

just yet another thought!!!!!!

nice one Gary!

all the best

Lee

the Decouplers test will work like this:

what we are doing is this...in a
nut shell........

materials:

Ply
12mm...check
Decouplers...check
Adhesive... check....
Bal wonder
adhesive.....check....

we have cut 400mmx400mm squares of ply.....and
then cut them in half....so 2 pieces of 400x200........

we will abutt
them and then apply a suitable flexable adhesive ( or contact glue! still
undecided!!)......and bed in the decoupler....
then we will fix a 300x300
tile to the decoupler and wait 28 days for "full cure".........once set we will
put in 4 screws in the edges of each side of the boards on each test
piece.....
and the same in a work bench.......attach some wire and crank it
apart by lateral force of the workbench.....applying horseshooe packers as we
go......until there is a pop.......

and we have a
measurement.......

if it goes beyond 3mm (as per spec) then it has a
tilers lab pass............simples really......

its been given a lot of
thought by Ray.......and its genius.....IMO...

all the best

Lee

I like the thread as it is.. it will just get bigger and bigger.. 🙂

I have to agree Dave......I like BIG!!!... that said.....I have seen elsewhere that it has beed re organised fantasticly.......there are the individual threads and videos...and a place for peeps to comment......

all the best from

Lee, Ray and Gary!..........AKA....The Testing Lab Crew!...hehehhehehehehehheheee

It would make much more sense to stick the reviews as reviews in the reviews forum: Tiling Tool Reviews - Tiles | Floor Tiles | Wall Tiles | Tilers Forum

lol

If this thread gets 50 pages long you'll find all the stuff in the middle wont get read. Latest stuff will get read as current discussion, and the old stuff that comes first in the thread will get read by random browsers.

You'd get a lot more people reading them if they all had their own threads.

Just IMO.

I do agree with Dan's thinking for getting views etc, we can only do what the poster wants and if that isn't required then I'm ok to leave it as it is, we are only trying to help but we can organise it which ever way suits. Simples 🙂

What other tests have you got lined up???
the ones just above plus the wet saw test .also one biggy witch we think will help all just waiting for confamaion

Only just found this thread , so re : the hole saws.

I buy mine direct from hong kong , last lot was 27 quid for 10 inc delivery. Still only broken one out of the pack so far.
As for technique , I use a worx drill , speed 1 , paint brush for cooling - I find it tends to let the water drip out at a consistent rate unlike a sponge.

Cheers

Diggy
