Due to my shoulder injury (RSI) work have purchased me a smaller keyboard to prevent me from working in bad postures. My bigger keyboard caused me to stretch my arm out to the right in awkward positions to reach the mouse, so this smaller keyboard means that my mouse is right next to my keys and I don't need to stretch so far.

:hurray:

aaaawwww! poor you!

you need to go and see your GP dc. your aches and pains don't sound healthy at all. Gisela will tell you off for not doing anything about it. You can't carry on working like that, the pain is telling you that your back needs a break to recover.

Goodness, it's tiny, Liz, is it ok to type on? good for you if it works though, keep us posted! 🙂

David, that means your sciatic nerve is involved, goes down the back of the legs, google sciatic nerve release exercises, take some anti-inflammaties ( Ibuprufen, if you stomach can take them, or Devil's Claw (very good herbal treatment), and something like the herbal Calms which will help relax you along with the spasms. You can tell your wife I used to fix backs for a living, and rest means faster recovery, usually 🙂

Liz, already asked this on FB but, what's with the cream near the PC?

cheers G! i'll try the herbal stuff as i'm allergic to ibuprufen,i assumed it was something like sciatica and had tried to take a few days of work to get a few jobs organised but i'm sorting out out my mates kitchen/bathroom and ended up humping 20 odd m2 of tiles up stairs and other bits and pieces last night and it's back(no pun) to square one!

will defo have a look at those options tonight

Devil's Claw -sounds like a bond villain

Take it with food, you'll be fine, and keep it up for a while if you are prone to joint and back pain, it builds up over time, some take a while to feel the benefit, some, like me, feel better immediately, I really like it, and I can't take ibuprufen or aspirin or anything like that either.
Devil's Claw has its name from the shape of the root but also because it addresses the kind of pain that feels as if the devil had his claws stuck in to you, very apt for sciatica and most back pain. Good luck 🙂

I'd have thought at least the muscle relaxing advice would apply to your spasms mate yeah. G used to make a living out of fixing aches, mainly backs (from what I can work out or what she's said). PM her with your issue mate, I bet you a tenner if you follow her advice your issue will be on the mend.

G could be on the way to a money making making venture on here sorting out tilers aches and pains...........

Any good for muscle spasms in the shoulder MG

As Dan said... 🙂 but without knowing why you have the spams and without knowing your postural alignment or rather misalignment it's tricky to say - muscle relaxants, as said herbal 'Calms' or similar or Syndol are very useful, and Devil's Claw is good for inflammation in general. There are so many reasons for joint pain, ALL joint pain, that's where you need the practitioner to help you find out what's going on, and what you are doing, perhaps unwittingly, to make it worse or at least not heal.

If you PM me, can I have that tenner, Dan? 🙂

I feel for you but everyone is right. Your really should get these things checked out. I worked for a long time with carpal tunnel syndrome. Seeing a specialist on monday hopefully for a surgery date. I dread to think the damage Ive done in the time I didnt know what was wrong...
