WHy Rubi dry cutter?

M

mags

Why should I buy a Rubi , it seems to be the choice of most pros however looking at it its no different to many others and in fact others use the saem rubi cutting blade.

After all its metal base metal sliders and a cutting blade so why the hell is it 250quid for the 700? Seems pretty crazy for a not technical piece of kit.

You need to try a few cutters and see which suits you best. I trained using both Rubi and Montolit. I chose montolit because for me, it did more for the money. There must be a sound reason why so many guys choose Rubi, give one a try and then compare to a "similar" cutter to see if there is any difference. I don't class a Montolit as "similar" by the way!

it's things like the superior sliding and breaking mechanisms that make a rubi stand out, a bit like comparing a rolls to a skoda, they've both got 4 wheels and a shell:20::thumbsup:

I trained on a ruby and have no contact with any other make of cutter. If I were a manufacturer I would have given these training schools free cutters years ago to encourage a new market!

Mags - How you doing!

1974 - Wall tiling - Cintride pencil style hand held cutter and Oporto snappers with glass cutting wheel.
Floor tiling - Panel pin hammer and chisel.
1977 - Sigma single rail score and snap on a sprung base unit.
1980 - Rubi TS 40 (still in use)
1995 - Rubi TS600 (still in use)
2000 - Rubi TS600 updated model (still in use)

It's like being married - you get used to one another - ( I can hardly say 'you love each other more' can I).

John.
