This afternoon while travelling to collect some materials i noticed a driver coming in the opposite direction laughing into his mobile phone while having a conversation, this in itself is possibly not too bad.......but he was driving a hearse with a coffin in the back and the corteage following on behind, dont know what you think but it just didnt sit right with me .

i know that life does go on etc etc but you can switch your phone off for 10 mins surely

I was in that b+q one day about 8 years ago with a workmate.
We were walking around when a woman walked past us, he said something not so quietly and i was totally appalled by his remark and loudness.
Extremely disrespectful by anyones standards.
That day changed my view on this person.
It wasn't even one woman.

I woudn't normally go out my way to get someone in trouble but somethings are unforgivable. Yes life must go on but he is paid to do a job and one that demands dignity at all times. To be honest i'd call the company and tell them what a bad image it is giving out for one of their employees to be doing that

One thing that astounded me a few years ago was the Louis Theroux programme about 'America's Most Hated Family.' They were religious fanatics who would frequently demonstrate at the funerals of servicemen because they died fighting for a country that tolerated homosexuality. They would even have banners such as 'Thank God for dead soldiers.' I can't imagine how the families of the deceased felt.

I saw that epoisode too and was shocked.

What also shocked me is that they could have such sick and twisted views on one thing but be quite rational on others, strange how some peoples minds work.

I give up, hand guns in schools, what is going on.

The lawyers are the only ones who make out of the court cases, that beggers belief

Texas seems truly unbelievable ... there was a case of a 10 year old gang raped not long ago, by 18 year old guys, and the girl was blamed. I don't usually believe in spreading negative news, as you all know, but that makes my blood boil, there seems to be a move back to the dark ages ... very very scary.

He re-visited them and there's not many left in their 'Chruch' - pretty much just the family but some of those have even left.

I don't know what the final resolution was to this. For a time, there was an effort in the US Congress to pass a law that would ban demonstrations within a certain distance of military funerals. I think some state legislatures were trying to do the same thing.

This one might beat them all... and incidentally it's also in Texas that guns are now allowed in colleges...
Texas Cheerleader Who Refused to Cheer Rapist Loses in Court

I read about this case. I think the school blew it by making an issue of it (they should know when to pick and choose their battles), but I do follow the line of legal reasoning that the court used to determine that the cheerleader's rights weren't violated.

The issue with guns allowed in colleges and universities in Texas---this is for holders of concealed weapons permits. It doesn't apply to the population at large-meaning relatively few studens will have concealed firearms on campus.

Rob, IMO the school should have been supportive to the girl by offering she could stay absent from the games he was playing in or whatever, not behave as they did, and guns have no place outside a shooting club or for relevant reasons. What could be a relevant reason for anyone to have a gun in a college?

With a concealed gun why would it be necessary to take it into school, it's obviously there right but don't see the purpose.
