Started 2 en-suites today, walls not the greatest & told the customer that he will have to strip some wallpaper as you cant tile on top.

He told me that he had another tiler in a few months ago doing the main bathroom & he never removed the paper,

He just PVA'd the walls & tiled. :yikes: :mad2:

The tiling's not great anyway, thats why they never got him back for the en-suites.

Thats true.

Its a bit of a shame though as the main bathroom must be about 50m2 Travertine. 😳

I think it is about 4oz a square metre...

If it was good old woodchip wallpaper (yes i do remember it) then it would prob hold 100kilos per sqm or more, stuff was a nightmare to get off the damn walls.

I used to tile displays in B&Q and they were tiled onto lining paper.....why ? So they could be stripped off easily .

What chance do we have when a main importer say as long as you use their primer and adhesive you can hang 68kg of tiles per m2 onto plaster skim ????
