I’d like to thank everyone that has offered advice and answered my posts in relation to this job. :grouphug:

As requested by Dave - here's some before and after photos.

It’s a full bathroom refurb. Flooring replaced with 25mm WBP ply, stud wall built to enclose soil stack and shower valve, electric UFH laid, 450x450 porcelain tiles with a travertine and glass mosaic border and a nice new bathroom suite and all my own work!

Thanks again.

Mark.

Hi Mark
Very nice job and no wonder you are so pleased with it as the difference between the before and after is great. Hope the customer was pleased and paid accordingly.

Looks good m8

I see you used a upvc quatrant around the bath what did you tank the walls with m8 ??

Hi Tiler,

It's not upvc quardant, it's Silicon. The walls were tanked with a BAL WP1 kit. I know you advocate the use of membrane systems and they make a lot more sense to me too. I may try one on the next job.

They are lovely holes! (Picture "after" number 2) of the victorian sink and waste pipe...

Did we have anything to do with that?

That looks top notch, Mark.

Is the suite form Bathstore?
Looks identical to one we installed just after new year.

Hi Richard - Yes, 365 drills for all 34 holes in the bathroom! I've posted a review on the tile drilling forum http://www.tilersforums.com/tile-dr...ke/10889-just-used-365-drills-first-time.html

They are a great bit of kit - I can't wait to try them on ceramic tiles

Hi Drew - Yes, it is a Bathstore suite. The sanitary ware seems well made and the only problem I had was with the bath filler from them. The first time the customer used it the cold valve blew apart! The gland nut was held in with threadlock and wouldn't hold on it's own. I'm waiting for a replacement from them. The only downer on an otherwise very smooth job.

give yourself a pat on the back...you did well ....:hurray:..

is there a reason why the basin pipes are,nt concealed within the pedestal where that should be

Hi pjtiler,

Yes - the cavity in the pedestal is very narrow and only just wide enough for the pedestal trap. As I was using chrome pipe with the stainless flexi tap connectors I didn't think it was too much of a problem aesthetically.

it is his first job and he has done very well ,but that is a good point you make about the pipes and something he can think about on his next job.

ALWAYS LEARNING EH!

pjtiler & Brian C - thanks for the comments.

I totally agree. Unfortunately there would have been a conflict with the waste pipe together with issues with the stud wall construction. I would have much rather put all of the pipework in the walls, just as the feeds and waste for the bath are through the new stud wall .

But as you say - ALWAYS LEARNING.

Mark

im not trying to knock the lads workmanship
if i see something thats not right well if some one dont tell him he,ll never learn
