stick or twist (layout question)

should i keep the small cut at the doors or move over to end on a full tile?

i ask because i have measured out the floor precisely and all other areas look good, so i'm not wanting spoil the layout just to get a full tile here.

opinions?

how bigs the cut at the other end ?, can you not budge it up a bit to half a tile cut in the door..

Cut down t'other end is 3/4 of a tile. So yes I could bump to give half and half. But if I'm moving would it be better to just go the whole hog and have a full tile there?

if you put a full tile in the door way then the whole floor will have to be squared off the doorway, or you may end up with a full tile one side of the door and 10mm gap the other side, or 10mm slither off a tile, I would budge it up and have half a tile each end..

Ah yes obviously the door won't run straight so you're right - over sight on my part.

So if I measure off my centre line enough to give half at the door and snap a new line here I'll be ok correct?

yep, if you can work it half tile each end then fine, its allways best to cut into doorways, walls etc, incase they run out....

going to to stick with the 3 inch cut at the door. Every other dry run is giving me terrible cuts (1inch) all round the main floor area.

If the tiles aren't square to the door, it will look hideous! Hard to advise as we can't see the full room layout, but a crap cut somewhere less focal might be better.

basically ive squared the design on the room centre so the door is running off very slightly at an angle.

How do I re-square on the French doors?

you don't have to. Just make sure you have a larger cut, as that fools the eye, and the angle is less noticeable. 😉

what wall are you squaring the room off..? is it one of the walls to the side of the French doors..?

I got a framing square and squared up in the doorway and followed the same centre line and it looks a million times better when at the doors. Thanks for the advice
