small bathroom waterproofing for tiling

Building a small bathroom, stud work is up and just wondered what would be the best option for fitting on there.

As its small, the floor and all walls will be tiled. Only one small wall is solid with plaster already on it.

Hopefully something that can be tiled to directly as seems pointless to plaster.

I was going to use green m/r chipboard for the floor but whatever is suggested.

Hi Mercedism

As diamond tiling has said.

18mm ply on the floor with noggins to support all edges etc. 6mm hardibacker on top with a single part flexi addy.

I use marmox boards on the walls in wet areas and normal plasterboard in the dry areas. you can use normal plasterboard and apply a tanking membrane either a paint on 1 such as Bal WP1 or a membrane like homelux matting.

Good luck and whereabouts in the south coast.

Thanks.

Will check out the prices for the walling items, do i need to fix these with anything special and do i have to seal any joins?

Also i have some puhos 19mm tounge & groove moisture resistant chipboard left from elsewhere. I know this can be scored to tile as its waxy. What do you think of using that???

Just had a look at the hardibacker stuff and is this for waterproofing or making the flooring more solid to tile? as the homelux suff looked easier.

Just missed a big point. Where the shower is going to go, one wall is a new stud one which i will fit one of the mentioned products but the other wall (quadrant shower to fit.) is an unusual material. Its like straw matting gone hard and rendered and plastered. Room is very small so can i do something to this wall too waterproof it as don't have the room to overboard it?

12mm hardie for the walls, just tape over the joints and this will be waterproof. 6mm is used on floors which are already secured to joists
