Show Us YOUR Work Thread - Tilers Pictures

Edit May 2024: THIS is a New Show Us Your Work Thread for 2024 Onwards

This is the new Tilers Showcase Forum where we want new tiling work added, with each tiling job you complete having a thread of its own so people can see what kind of work you do, and potential customers can find your work

I thought it was about time we had a thread dedicated to all members of Tilers forums to show us any work that they do.

Be it from installing a kitchen to garden decking. Show us your work! Get those pictures taken, but then do something with them! Actually add them to a thread and some facebook groups with your website link in them etc and it'll help spread the tile love. 🙂

If you have done a job then please do share it with us.

Pics are a MUST as what is the point of sharing a job without them...

So if you do a job and you take a few pics then please do share it with us.

Lets make it a big thread for all to view and input in.

Thanks Dave ..:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Something a bit different I was working on this week. Sicis custom Caleidos mosaics in Murano Marble and glass. Mesh backed, each 'sheet' is just over 700mm x 700mm and 10mm thick. I used Kerakoll No Limits Bio Gel adhesive and they were grouted with N&C black Starlike epoxy, which is nice stuff to clean.
Most of the room will have a skirting so i wasnt too bothered about any chipping, but the cuts around the middle wall will be seen. I used Montolits Mosaic 2 glass blade on my grinder (its also suitable for stone), its a nice thin blade and just kept it cool with water to stop the glass shattering and it worked a treat.

Here’s a shower room I did couple months back, Garythetiler and Mark Frost also came along to help. It was Gary that put me forward for the job, so when he had a few spare days he came along and got involved too.
Prep had been done by other, Mark and I ripped it out and started again from almost scratch. But we left them with this.
It’s 3.2m x 1.6m x 6mm Florim. Very nice material.

How wide are the doors on your house? Pretty wide I'd say to get that big head through....

Yes I am only jealous 😀

Soooo, here’s the shower room downstairs 🙂
Same problems and same material.
These were more challenging, much higher ceiling line and the room wasn’t as wide as one tile. So took a little more thought getting the pieces in, and the room wasn’t as accessible either as the door was on the landing and not in a bedroom where you might have more room to move.

Would you swap your lifestyle for mine?

That hypothetical question is impossible to answer as neither of us know what each others life is really like. I know that I would love to be able to produce jobs of your standard but you have mentioned the word "children" before and that is something that I've absolutely no interest in at all!

That hypothetical question is impossible to answer!

Haha I was more kinda being a lot more general than that Paul, give me strength oh Lord. Haha

On a very shallow level Paul would you choose lifestyle A. or B.?

A. Get to do this kind of work, but......Live amongst the hustle bustle that is London, where it took me approximately 90-120 mins to get to work and sometimes longer to get home everyday. (13 miles away) Having to deal with site agents on a daily basis who know less than the ground workers outside, and who really don’t give a damn about what your job entails. Where the cost of living is bloody absurd and costs up to £150 a week just to take your car to work let alone run it. Blah blah

Or........

B. Do mainly remedial work...... and live where you do, with the weather being so much kinda than here. Enjoying a much slower pace of life, where everything is put off until tomorrow. Where everyone and everything appears to be much more chilled out. 🙂

I know what I’d chose.

I would have to say B. However, the grass is very rarely as green as it appears on the other side...
I don’t think that greener is the word I’d use Paul, just different, and yes it is somewhat appealing as I get older and older and bloody older haha

I honestly would really struggle to live in the UK now. Life, in general, is much better here but I'm working harder for less money than I ever have!
