When doing a floor on the diamond i would half then quarter the room and place the diamond on the four points to give even cuts all around the room ,but what would you do if you had to follow the pattern into other rooms would the setting out process be different.

Not actually done anything like this but logic tells me you would drop the starting line to go through the doorway ensuring that your cuts are OK. Will be interesting to see what the more experienced guys say.

surely, and not speaking from experience here, once set out one room and its been rotated onto the diamond you would just take the lines as you would normally?

If tiling on 45 in one sqaure room then yes..but if trying to get a centre line in two different directions then its slightly different....dave...

Suggest to the customer you diagonal the centre of the two square rooms or rectangular creating pattern centre, then have tiles laid square outside them linking the two al be it separate areas....looks fabulous

So if i was to put a border around would you centre the tiles then stick down first then fill in with your border, by the way if it was a pattened border like in DH picture would it be better to have a border within a border as otherwise you would be trimming the pattened tile against the wall.
