Hello there.

Just spoken to one of our branches and they informed me that if they are porous then yes they need sealing. If they are not porous then it is your choice.

Hope this helps.

Cheers.

The action of polishing natural stone, i.e. granite, opens up microscopic holes at the surface. Very difficult (impossible?) to see with the naked eye but big enough to help grab onto dirt ( and grout!). Sealers "fill in" these holes and therefore reduces the likelyhood of them getting filled with gunge.

It's a very simple process for me: I test the tile and if it accepts sealant I advise the client they need sealing if they refuse the problem is down to the client:thumbsup:

They probably will need sealing but if you want to test a tile to make sure, get yourself a dry wipe marker and mark the tile, if a tile doesnt need sealing then you will be able to wipe off the ink with no traces shown, however if it leaves a ink mark then get your sealer out, generaly a test for polished porcelain but the same test applys for them all
