Hi just fitted new granit floor but old wooden floor underneath had water damage. and has caused one of the tiles to sit high there is underfloor heating so cant remove tile! so the question is is it possible to grind down and repolish not sure what els I can do.

You mabe want to drop Tilinglogistics a PM if you really have to grind and polish. Did you not check the floor for flatness before you started?

If the old wooden floor underneath had water damage then I wouldn't have even started to think about laying ufh and tiling.

Good luck with it.

Preperation / homework might have been an idea, you reap what you sow m8, I'm with Fekin

Really I don't see anyother way than lifting the floor, replacing damaged floor boards and retiling if the customer demands a flat level floor, unless there is a way of grinding them down and polishing them up.

It may be possible to grind and repolish it. But I need more information as requested in my earlier post:thumbsup:

iTS THE OLD ADDAGE ISN'T IT FAIL TO PREPARE...PREPAIR TO FAIL..JUST HOPE YOU CAN SORT IT OUT OR IT COULD BE A COSTLY MISTAKE...GOOD LUCK MATE

Hi I know I'm a bloody donught kicking myself. lifted old flooring up and most of the floor had disapeared. so set to work at replaceing. but now starting to run out of time !! argh . so tryed my best to repare floor then plied over top but now there is obviously a swollen bit that i missed. the lipage is probably a couple of mm. showed customer and told her what the problem was and she was fine but then hubby comes home from work and is not happy.( don't blame him realy ) i'm thinking of lifting high tile and ginding down but there is underfloor heating down so panicking about damaging that any adivise is very much appreciated.

If it is genuinley only one tile it could probably be hand grond especially as it is only a couple of mm. I think i would be more tempted to do this than start lifting tiles IMHO:thumbsup:
