I need some help. 😕

Ive been tiling for the past year and a half and recently started concentrating on working for myself. Over the last couple of months ive come to realise that i want to work more with natural stones, wet rooms and possibly head towards/include geometric tiling. Now as you can imagine, over the year and a half ive learnt a fair amount, so the sort of course i am looking for has to be a reasonably specialised as im concerned that i wont be learning anything new in said course. Can anyone give me some advice on where would be the best place to look for this sort of course or if there is anything more appropriate for me to aim for?

Im also looking for a course that will give me more knowledge on the business side of things, books, accounts, quotes etc...

oh, im based in london, but am not adverse to travelling for the right course.

any info will be much appreciated.

squareeyes🙂

ps: Hope this is the right section to post this.

It is indeed.

NETT and BAL do 1 day natural stone courses. NETT also offer 4 day tiling courses where you get a QCA approved qualification (OCN)

Chase Tiling Academy are accredited by the CITB to run the ICA and NVQ2 in Wall & Floor Tiling.

Both NETT and Chase Tiling Academy help you with business setup

Good Luck 🙂

There's loads of feedback on training centres in this tiling courses bit if you've not read them already. But a list like THIS and THIS can be helpful at time like these. 🙂

Thanks a lot for the feedback and sorry for the late reply. Im still reading through the course details on different places and will definately be booking one shortly. So far im thinking about North East tilling even though its pretty far. Ill have to see.

Thanks again and ill keep you posted.

im looking to enter the tiling industry, there are many courses/ training centers can any one recomend any in the hertfordshire area. thanks

Try to find a course that's right for you rather than is closest to you Alan.

I'm also in Hertfordshire (north of Stevenage) and seriously thinking about PTS in Harlow. Don't know if there are any nearer that provide the same training.

Hi Sqaure Eyes
I've just done a geometric course at PTS in Harlow - they put it together for me as they hadn't done one before. It was great - completed a design, cut all the tiles myself (it's a bit too expensive to buy pre-cut ones, but at least I know how to do it know if a client can't afford the pre-cut tiles). I was able to jump into their other course lectures (business planning, accounts, marketing etc) which are really helpful.

Give them a ring, go down and see them that's what I did, they went out of their way to accommodate me.

Simon - Ditto above.

Squareeyes,
I have just completed the 4 week PTS course and i believe they also do a "Victorian course". I was to busy to find out about it , but it might be worth giving them a ring:- Try 01279865843 during normal office hours - P.S their based in Harlow Essex.

Wow. thanks a lot for all this guys. Youre helping me out loads and im glad to read that there are places that do geomtrics and victorian style tiling. Thanks Anne/albert for those details too. 🙂
