hi guys,

have my first job booked a week on monday! 🙂
Any advice on what i shld do if i lift the kitchen tiles and they are stuck to chipboard and under that is floor board? i assumed i would be tiling onto cocrete but was only told this out after i had quoted the guy £265 for around 10sqm!

lift the old tiles and check the chipboard is securely fixed, remove any old adhesive, if this proves difficult prime floor with bal apd neat and then smooth with arditex leveling compound, then when dry, tile with balflex 2 part adhesive and grout with bal superflex grout... price removing tiles and leveling on day rate and laying of tiles on price per mtr... hope this helps..........

just done my first kitchen floor today and will have to go back tommorrow as i didnt factor in removing and shaving three doors, any what im trying to say is dont rush into pricing before your ready, but hey we learn from our mistakes i hope

damn, i've priced too cheap!
i'm gonna learn the hard way i think:icon9:
wat would you charge for a day rate and how much should i price per sqm?

advice really appreciated🙂

i just learning too this was my first paying job
but on average i would have added twenty five for the doors each but 265 for the floor sounds all right better than i priced 160 for square meters. so i am learning the hard way to but the good news i only plan on making mistakes once

cheers guys.
i reckon it shld take no more than a couple of days, i hope!!
if all goes well. will let ya know how it went.

ok by the way i was bricking it before the the job but allin all it went ok and once i stopped worring about everything i actually enjoyed my work

good to hear stu. thing that i dont wanna happen is get there and realise that i dont have the right equipment that is needed and suddenly realise i'm in the ****, but like you said once i get into it i'll hopefully enjoy it

by the way did you encounter any unforeseen probs?!
