i get mine from builder centre, forget the make, if you use it with the latex additive you can use to 30 mill but with water it's 10 mill.

Levelflex by TA will go from 0mm to 50mm, sorry I don't have a link. Good stuff (fibre)

Levelflex is a good one by tilemaster, or you could use others mixed with 3mm aggregate chippings, see manufacturers specs by Ardex, F Ball, Laybond to name a few others.

Plan it? from Topps up to 50mm in one go and goes hard in a couple of hours. used it a few times and had no problems. I think its about £25 a 25 kg bag.

do the maths

1.6 kg per sq m per mm

eg

3.0 x 3.0 room size

hang on i need my calc

9 sq m room size

1.6 x 9 = 14.4 kg

14.4 kg x 30 = 432kg

432kg / 23 kg = 18 or 19 bags

19 bags * £ 20 = £ 380 ish

insulation boards

6 ' x 3' = 1.67 sq m per board

6 boards 30mm thick + adhesive £ 250 ish and a lot easier on the back

if and if you dont get them level then skim over the lot with a coat of slc

Carol Vordamore checking out

please note the above is only rough but you get my gist

As suggested Ultra does the job up to 50mm, used a dozen or so times and seems pretty good - certainly no complaints from me anyway. Good price from Topps if you have a trade account with them.

Only problem with your Maths is the weber they are on about is £11 plus vat, think the Norcros is similar but I've not used that one.

ultra etc are good or if you need that depth and want speed you can use Ardex A 35 mix 1-4 with good quality screed sand/grit ardex replaces portland. it is used semi dry and sets for tiling in 3 hours.

well at that price it makes a differance

but i would still prefer to put down 6 boards than 18 bags of slc

most i have done in one hit was 36 with three of us not nice

The Webber is excellent SLC with fibres.
But at 50mm its going to be expensive whichever you use.
