how do people rate these bal waterproofing kits . are they necessary in with sand/cement with skimmed walls cheers

I think the Mapei AquaDefense tanking is a far more robust system.

Ive got an ardex one on my desk that is lined with the wpc kit and full of water, and it hasnt ever leaked.
Ed the duck floats around in it all day long!

So they will save hassles later on and for around £70 its money well spent.

whats wrong with the tubed stuff . normally use bal

With tubbed gear it's a dispersion and can soften up with contact with moisture and can take an age to dry out if for instance the tiles are over 300 x 300mm, also needs one surface, tile or wall to have suction.
