Backer board for walls - Tile Advice

I am refurbing my bathroom and would like to install boards on the walls to create a nice even surface for me to tile on.

Its a brick and plaster wall once i remove old tiles i am planning to use the following materials and method, can you please advise if any problems u can see with it

Then tile directly onto that with 300x100 tiles all around.

A few issues.

You first need to make sure you can dot and dab that 10mm board to the wall, most boards under 12.5mm need to be solid bedded.

If they can be dot and dab fixed then this must be done with a cement based tile adhesive and not dry wall adhesive.

Then as you have mentioned screw through and fix using 30mm washers.

Personally as you are only using 300 x 100 tiles I would just dry line the walls with plasterboard and fix using the 30mm washers.
Tank the wet area and tape the joints.

This will be a much cheaper option.
