Advice for this area please, picture attached - Tile Advice

Hi, first time I’m posting 👋🏽
I’m after some advice please.
Is this area going to need plastering before tiling or will tile backerboards be ok to use? Not looking for a quick fix as I want to do it properly but I know plastering will delay the tiling.

best thing to do is go get a bag of bonding from wicks or bnq and fill that area in let it set then tile over it.

Also any loose plaster that you can pull off with your hands needs to be removed with tiling preparation of what your gonna stick too is key and makes it easier when it comes to tiling. It’s better taking more time getting the area your tiling bang on more than just throwing tiles up.
