Been doing toilets and shower rooms over the last few weeks in Manchester for a London based firm. basically they have 2 employees who are based in Manchester (odd job men). Tiling a shower this morning when one of them said "when you get to this point let me know cause i need to cut out an access panel for the shower"
Told him it was pointless as it is just being totally tiled over anyway so may aswell leave it then if in the future there was any probs just remove a couple of tiles then cut a hole out, he agreed. Nipped off for a butty, walked in and i could have killed him. The clown had started doing an access panel with a jigsaw he bought from Aldi or something. It had vibrated that much that all the shower tiles i had put on this morning fell off (only bloody been on a hour the idiot). You could see burns in the wood because the blade he used was that blunt.
Packed up my gear and walked off, head office just phoned me and told me if i return to the job tomorrow they will pay an extra 2 days so all is not that bad 🙂

Could really have killed the clown though, had to pack up asap before i exploded.

You will probably find that the jigsaw was so loud when he had used it previously it had made him deaf! He obviously hadn't heard a word you said:mad2:

I had the same issues only 3 weeks ago in manchester as well - only this guy decided to rip all the plasterboard of the walls and then tell me I would have to fork out to replace it all - told them where to go and walked out.

Bloody cowboys

Smiffy

Just finished a bathroom a few months ago perfect Silicon joints fresh and clean, nipped down stairs to start transfering stuff to the car, when a couple of sparks arrived, told them I had just finished and everything wet. Just thought I would go and get a snap of the finished job and you guessed it they drill through the ceiling bringing down streams of black loft dust all round my Silicon joints. Was not happy......

A plumber I know recently tiled a bathroom 600mm x 300mm porcelain, The customer did'nt like his Silicon said it was to wide then started taking it of, took him an hour removing Silicon that had just skinned over.

Can imagine the outcome...Mr.Clever has a go himself and makes worse job than plumber...a lesson in appreciation me thinks...lol.....:mad2:.......Gaz

Was working on a bathroom showroom and they were behind getting partitioning up for me at one point, when they suddenly got quite in front of me they wanted to catch up for lost time so they said one of the Albanian labourers was a tiler back home so we'll give him ago,I gave him the easiest bay to do just normal ceramics, normal set out.
He did the left wall first, then the right wall.I told him he'd be better off doing the middle wall before the right so its easier to match the lines up but he told me he knew what he was doing. The foreman asked me to keep an eye on him to make sure he was doing alright. He thought he was really good even moving onto another bay before doing the middle wall of the one he'd already started because he fancied the other tiles. The foreman asked me to finish his other bay and I said the tiles better meet up
Had a close look at the bay:whatchutalkingabout left wall was started from the bottom with half a tile, right wall started with a full tile, lines were out 20 cm.
Looked at his other bay and the top tiles were like steps no straight lines, foreman saw them and went mad,no more tiling for him.

I did another job,put all the off-cuts in a box before left one night(tidly)came back the next and some bloke had thrown them away in the skip, told him there wouldn't be enough tiles to finish the job and he told me it was my problem:furious3: Told him that if he didn't have the tiles out of the skip by the time I had got my tools out of the car then we were gonna have serious words:3: :13:
They were there waiting for me just in time, luckily for him
