Hi Guys

Going from sandstone to carpet in two doorways . I'm laying today and may not be able to get the transition strip - it's 15 mm at the absolute most down to carpet . Is it possible to fix transition after , How much gap do I leave and do Tile Giant sell such material .

Thanks for any help , need to get going to take mind off yesterdays events

Cheers

Dave

U can get threshold bars that go to about 20mm . B&q sell them. They have red, blue and white inserts that u use for the height diff.

So how close should I buff up to the carpet?

I think the strip that is secured to the floor is about 10mm thick, but I would buy them and fit them, then fit the tiles to it, making sure not to get addy / grout in the strip itself

It's looking good Dave .

I'd ditch the rabbit and get a metal or wood bar mate tho'. It you leave a gap of around 15mm between tiles and carpet then you'll be safe. Try and end the tiles midway under the door and cut the carpet back if you have to.

Good luck with your JOTM entry .

Some transition bars need to be fitted as the last tile is laid and others are retro fitted, i'd buy the bar first then see where you're at:thumbsup:
