Discuss Waste Pipe for toilet in the Canada area at TilersForums. The USA and UK Tiling Forum (Also now Aus, Canada, ROI, and more)
Hi Everyone,
Hope all’s okay.
Regarding cutting hole for waste pipe for toilet.
The floor tiles are down.
The waste pipe hole could be slightly higher due to tile thickness.
I haven’t seen what toilet is going to be fit as the mother in law hasn’t bought it yet. ( the difference between outlaws and in-laws is that outlaws are wanted)
Do I just cut with existing waste hole and it’s the plumbers problem?
How should I proceed?

Plumber can use an offset pan connector if it's only tile thickness you're worrying about.
Thanks Jcr,
Tiles I took up were 5 mm , ones I’ve laid are 10mm . Is an offset pan connector still ok?
Pictures would help mate ?if it's a like for like swap then crack on if not just make sure you can make it work, nothing looks worse than a toilet having to be spaced off the wall . Kop
Cheers Kop,
Sorry mate no pictures.
Was just worried about tile thickness difference.
I think I can persuade the mother in law to get something similar, like for like. If not she can tile the bleeding thing herself
Thanks for your reply.
