UFH Tiling schedule

Thought I was okay with UFH process but now confused! Timber floor was overplyed (18mm), 10mm installation, loose cables, SLC (Fibreplan) put down on Saturday. Ready to tile however spoke to Mapei/Bal re time required for UFH/SLC/adhesive to be all okay to go and was told to gradually heat up SLC for a week or so before tiling? Intended to tile tomorrow!
I thought it was preferable to tile over SLC as soon as poss to avoid any damage etc?

did you do a test on your ufh prior to slc'ing Paul?

Hi Doug,
yes did the resistance tests constantly throughout the laying down, slc, and again today prior to electrician rigging it up. Have not switched on yet through thermostat....
spec for fibreplan does say that installation can be done after 24 hrs, but does not specifically say in refernece to UFH although product does state suitability to UFH.

Hi, That's what I understood, SLC manafacturer said it's fine, adhesive manafacturer said warm up the SLC over a week to make sure that there is no structrual/ compound failure. Both probably right however it's not really practical to leave it for a week?

I must admit, leaving slc for a fortnight is a new one on me. I've always felt comfortable tiling onto it the next day.

I suppose if there is a problem with the slc then you wouldn't know about it as you have tiled over it. It' s my first installation so probably over worrying! I am sure that you have done many and no problems.

Thats what they usually reccomend

and thats what i will continue to do
