I know steam cleaning on stone tiles in a no no, Ive been tiling 13 years seen lots of customers using steam cleaners on floors my wife even used one on our stone floor with no damaging effects over the last 10 years, Ive been looking at sx 15 to clean travertine and get dirt out the holes in it which cant be got by my agitation machine, question is the psi of a sx 15 is 2 or 3 times higher than a steam cleaner and also uses hot water but i cant find out what temp, why doesnt using this method damage the tiles like a steam cleaner will? i know steam is finer but its basically tiny droplets of water, the high pressure of sx 15 will surly penetrate stone? The reason I asked as went to look at a job and a science teacher quizzed me on this?
If only used say once every 5 years on a deep clean is a steam cleaner a option?
