I have been checking out some of the details on here to do with preventing showers leaking after I'd started to re grout and the tiles came off. Dug a bit deeper and the plasterboard was soaked. So ripped it all out and bought Knauf Aquapanel.
Now looking to tank with BAL WP1 as aquapanel is only water resistant, have you actually seen aquapanel wet. It absorbs the water but stays sound. Was looking for a good seal at the bottom with the tray and ended up buying Trimlux.
Only problems with BAL Primer APD is it says should use a adhesive coating before using the primer. As BAL say it is water repellent. Anyone got any experience with these products.

Hi Joggers welcome to the forums. What are you trying to seal exactly? Is it to prevent water leaking out of the room and damaging a ceiling or something or just to prevent your tiles coming away next time because of the water ingress?

You shouldn't need to prime aquapanel as it is cement based anyway!

Hello and welcome to tilers forums.....i personally prefer using a tanking membrane, less hassle than solution kits...

If you pm wetdecs on here, he will advise about the membrane he sells..

Grumpy Grouter you asked what I was trying to seal. It is really trying to get the best job so I don't have to re grout in the future and so that water does not get behind the tile and down the back of the tray. I had found this article http://www.waterproofingshowers.com/pdf_files/bridging_wall_ledge_movement_joints.pdf
Very understandable etc and I'd already decided on the BAL system and put up Aquapanel but reading the application manual and speaking to BAL Technical they suggested an application of powder based adhesive before the primer.
Hope this helps. :yikes:
