the word SOLA in parts Italian, a meaning
SOLA= one counterfeit product
or,SOLA= take a rip OFF.
ahhahah

What you should be looking for in a good quality level is the deviation factor. A good quality level will show a variation of 0.5mm per metre or less.

If you zoom in on the triangle marks in the photo below you can see these for the Stabila. When using these levels over a large wall area, make sure you flip the level by 180 degrees as you move across the wall - this neutralises the level deviation to ensure your level is completely accurate. If the level does not have this information on it - bin it, it's no use for trade use.

Personally I agree Stabila are expensive, but they are the best imho.

That's one of the first things I was taught after being allowed to actually pick up anything other than a broom, squeegee or bucket! haha
And yet I find so many guys that give me a complete blank look when I ask why they're not flipping the level! 😱

You could put a letter A on one end of the level and a letter B on the other. Then as you go round the wall, put the level on as A-B then B-A, A-B and so on, then no confusion... well maybe none 😵

Are u familiar with the term 'flipping the bird' D?

I don't get confused flipping the level cos I've got
'Right way round' written on one side,
and 'Rong way round' written on the other! 😀

After rereading said post. I'm confused.... lol. But about 20 odd years ago in technology class at school that's how Mr Stout explained it. Simple in front of 30 teenagers that could hardly write their name. Hard bloody teacher him... lol, happy memories.

Not been on here over Christmas but I think, to quote Antonio "milf master @3_fall" wins the internet today. Reckon you ought to change your name @3_fall or at least get it printed on your cards.
Haha whilst in context I find that very funny,
Read out of context, I know someone who would find my new business card, if I were to do as you suggested, just a little insy tinsy distasteful!
Luckily she's not reading over my shoulder right now! Haha 🙄

For tiling i always buy stabila 196/2 levels and the stabila 96-2 for the 6ft level.
Tbo since i was 16 it was always drilled into me never buy cheap levels, so i havent because the accuracy of your work depends so much on them..

My tip would be to take some packers with you when you buy a level so that you can level it (the level) up on the floor with the packers; then turn it round and check that it also reads level that way. Do not buy any that do not read the same both ways as they are not good enough for tiling. Often you will reject all the levels in the shop as non of them are good enough.
