ive the same problem had to give the football up when i was 26 i use the alpro professional knee cushion £20 on trade tiler www.tradetiler.com made by a german doctor for sore knees it brilliant.the knee pads are a nusiance ive loads of pairs of them wouldnt use anything else now! hope this helps!

Im with garretridge. Had two opps on my right knee, the second one a complete knee reconstruction after a footy injury. My knee always has a dull pain especially in the cold weather. Id have given up by now if it wasnt for the alpro pads. Alot of other chaps prefer gel inserts so personal preference and comfort but its the big red ones for me!

as said before contact trade tiler, our forums sponsor and im sure they will sort you out with a good set of pads.

Once knew a guy a guy who used to tile sitting on a big soft medicine ball.Looked stupid but he said it worked.I tried it and kept falling off.I couldn't stop laughing.
Barhalt make great kneepads.Get the ones with soft fronts as you don't want to scratch the tile whilst grouting.Double them up for extra protection and try not using the straps I think they are just a pain.

I find knee pads add to the pain especially when they twist so you end up kneeling on the edge of the pad. And the straps cut in to your leg.
I ended up getting on of the pads that Rubi make and find it is a lot better. I think alpro do one aswell.

This also popular for tilers who can't wear knee pads.....

is it a razzle though to keep moving the cushion about ??

prefer cushioned knee pad inserts for my trousers as i've had all the cartlige removed im my left knee already throgh wear and tear and im only 28,tried several strap on knee pads and couldnt find anything that didn't hurt when i twisted, got cracking ones from a joiner i've been on a few jobs with will find out the name but think they are about £50:11:

6 ops on left knee, 7th looming! I find the integrated knee pads in my bosch pants the best I've ever used

Why do you want to see dougs pants......
:yikes: oh my word....NO!....unless you telling me I'm missing something 😳....interested in knee-padded pants for myself though....I'm asking for trouble here, aren't I......................... strictly for tiling floors....which I swore I would never do....

Would you have a link for that/those, Doug?
I'd imagine they'll be on bosch website MG, in the front of the work pants there's poches for knee pads. I know other trousers have them, but the bosch ones far superior to any others I've tried before.

In conjunction with my knee pads, I kneel on a piece of thick setee cushion foam, kindly left over by SCS when they came and refilled the sofa's.

have always used cushions from a settee but am doing predominantly floors nowadays so am gonna buy some expensive ones from trade tiler!!

I haven't a clue on the make, my brother chucked them at me a couple of years back, still going strong, comfy as hell but a really cheap make £10 ish if memory serves.

I think at the end of the day, it's down to the individual, we don't all stand / walk / kneel the same, personal preference.

I only use the pads in my snickers trousers, but the next pair are gona be the floor layers trousers which have the better knee pads.

Over here ProKnees are the kneepad of choice.
They are the most comfortable knee pad I've used. Expensive but worth every penny.

I use the Snickers Floor Layers pads in regular Snickers trousers and they work really well for me.
