I need a good white grout but not a brilliant white

I need a good white grout that does not look grey but at the same time its not a brilliant white as this looks too harsh on the cream/beige tiles.

Which are the best brands to try?

BAL Micromax is what I would call off white without being grey. Do you specifically want white? An ivory or jasmine colour would suit your tiles better IMO.

Agree with Bri, only time I use white grout is on white tiles unless customer specifies they want white.

What about Mapei Ultracolor Plus white, not a brilliant white?, but as has already been said an Ivory might be more suitable.....

Unfortunately I have to match the grout put in by the professional several years ago, I can now see its a very coarse sandy grout which has gone grey, next to it unibond brilliant white is dazzling. I can see the better grouts, I have tried BAL, have a much smoother finish.

Many thanks for all the helpful advice.

I have made up a board with some tile offcuts to try the grouts.

Ivory looks good and would be the grout of choice if this was being done again but its too dark for remedial work because I will never be able to get rid of the white in some places.

UCP in white is too dark its almost off white to grey.

Unibond brilliant white is too harsh.

Id there a nice white grout in between these two?

Its for a shower so preferably waterproof and anti mould.

After my post above I Looked on the web the other grouts seem to be:

Tilemaster 3000
Bal microflex
Bal micromax2

Any comments on the relative shades of these grouts and any others I have missed?

And I had always thought white grouts were all the same, and the price! You live and learn.

you wil lfind the grout has possibly discoloured through use, cant see you finding an exact match cant you re grout exisiting areas to match
