coming home from work last night i passed my local petrol station which is only about 400 metres from my house and thought shall i fill up....nah i will do it in the morning as i just wanted to sit down with the paper and a cuppa....petrol was £1.13 per litre. Set off for work this morning at 7.30....pulled into petrol station and guess what petrol now £1.14 per litre. typical i thought and filled up. Got to work and realised i had left the Silicon in the garage so i had to go back home luckily job is only 5 mins from my house. Drove home at about 9.30 after prepping bath to accept sealent had to go past the petrol station again and i could not believe my eyes:yikes::yikes: petrol is now £1.15 per litre. so god knows how much it will be by the end of the week. May have to get a bank loan to fill up for next weeks work. :mad2::mad2::ban:

I'm in south wales right now Chris and it's 1.21 a litre for petrol and diesel!

it said on the news last week that we are going to see record high prices over the next coming months  looks like its happening now...

sorry about the weather LIZ, its £1.16 where we are
you've got the tourists rate

Id protest as i missed the last one as i was travelling. Lucky really as i had an american camper with a 6.6litre chevy engine 8 MPG on a good day :yikes:

The trouble is with this country we all moan about it but nothing happens...

That because we are just the little people. If we all protested they'd act on it and then let it creep up again thinking we wouldnt notice. They'll only tax us on something else anyway.

there is an abandoned garage between Sadberge and Stockton on the A66 ( Dave will know where it is ) that is stuck in a time warp from the last time fuel prices went through the roof , iirc the price was 129.9 / litre :yikes:

Drives me nuts, been runnin back and forth to Edinburgh recently and spendin a fortune on fuel, I remember bein driven back from hospital about 12 years ago after havin a disc removed from my back and diesel was 42p a litre, happy days then, part from the row of stiches at the bottom of my spine!

I do, on the right hand side as you go to stocton.. been empty years..

There is a thread on here somewhere about fuel hitting £1.20 odd a litre.

by Rights we should pass the price increase on to the customer, but in this climate that's not going to happen,
i bet the suppliers will pass it on to us though!!!:mad2:

no , thats the old ivanhoe garage iirc , its the one on the other side , on the left as you go towards stockton next to the curry house , you were in the right area though

I've got a job that is 40 miles from home next week. I've already agreed with the customer that he is gonna get billed big for the fuel costs. I had a call today for another job that is at the periphery of my travel area so will factor fuel charges into that job too . It's the only way to be sure of staying on business, IMO.

Hmm, just came back from Egypt... the fuel prices there are much cheaper.... BUT at a minimum wage of around £5 an hour in the UK it would take around 15 minutes work for 1 ltr, agreed? At Egypt wages, and that on a teacher's wage at that, it takes 2 whole hours to buy 1 ltr. Would you like to swap? Shouldn't think so... it ain't so bad here, really...really...

How much tax is built in to that ~1.20 pounds per liter?

I need to check and see how much federal and state tax there is on a gallon of gas.

forget the exact split but from memory it stands at around 60% of it but don't quote me
