How to snap clean?

I have ceramic 450 x 316 tiles 9mm thick. I have smashed a couple in breaking them (lucky i have extras) , it seems I have to give a LOT of force to snap them using a Genesis 600 pro cutter (rubi blades). Is there a certian action like a flick of the wrist al la porcelain ?

mags hi never used that tile cutter but tiles are getting harder you may need a new diamond wheel in your cutter i find this helps also adjust the breaker height if you can so bear minimal force applied :8:

Brand new wheel in cutter its a nightmare , the tiles just shatter :yikes:

Some jobs, you just have to wet cut everything man! 🙁 Its rare though.

I have used the same cutter, where about are you attempting the break, at the edge of the tile ? what size wheel? on that thickness I would use minimum of 10mm heavy score and a firm snap, but to be fair, it is pushing the cutter to the limits, I just bought a Rubi TS 600, nice bit of kit.

UPDATE!!!

I inspected my NEW Genesis Pro 600 very closely, it turns out the breaking bar is not square to the breaker bar on the base, it hits to the right quite a bit sooner.

I have returned the cutter today for a full refund the supplier were top notch and will send the cutter back.

Looks like ill have to hire again 🙁..

I use the Genesis super pro 600 and have had no problems ( always use Rubi scoring wheels though ) even with Porcelain so I was suprised you were having probs, glad your supplier is sorting it for you.

AREET MAGS, I HAVE THE SAME CUTTER. I,VE BEEN CUTTING PORC TILES WICH ARE 300mm x 300mm x10mm WITH MINE.I THINK THE BEST WAY IS TO HIT BREAKER WITH PALM OF HAND GIVING IT A BIT OF WELLIE AND TRY GIVE TILE SHOCK AND IT SHOULD BREAK.GUD LUCK LAD.
