Just received my Diamond hole cutters from ATS...... very quick service and fan dabby dozy prices...

18mm / 25mm / 35mm / 45mm / 55mm / 65mm .... £22.82 +vat for all of them... :hurray:

they sound like really good value for the outlay.

i think lee, ray & gary got about 30 holes didn't they? maybe more?

i think the marcrist pg850 work out more profitable in the long term and are faster per hole but as sir ramic said previously, they are a pain to set up. Then there's the £350 outlay and the mess.

so if you divide the cost of the ATS bits per job, then you'll still make a good profit on them at a minimal out lay.
i am going to order that set tomorrow..

I think I will for that price too....seems like a bargain to me.

Interesting point.

I was having a conversation elsewhere with someone who bought £200 of these holesaws (not from me) and suggested with that outlay I would probably have gone with a pro set like the Marcrist.

Are the pg850's really that messy?

We're working on a pro set at the moment, they will be thinwall CNC drill bits (actually from the glazing industry - like the picture below) which we'll combine with a water fed swivel attachment. It will probably be summer before we get them here. If we get a summer this year!

Alan, I'll be straight up with you, your cores are worth twice what you charge for them, I charge £10 per hole so you can imagine the profit I make from your products. They are top quality for the price.

Dave,do you have a link so I can purchase them ?

If you're buying lots of sizes in one go don't use the sale linked above, that's really designed for people buying the odd bit.

click on our shop and use the individual sized sales and add what you want to your basket. If it's working right it combines the post, if it's not working right just request a total from us and we adjust it.

Orders totaling over £25 we send recorded delivery.

I knew you were stupid

They are spot on price and a damn site cheaper than 365. 🙂

When I price a job I look at how many holes need to be cored, times by £10, add to the price. We're running businesses, everything costs a price. It's a damn site cheaper than getting a specialist company to do the job.

I include hole cutting in mtrge , no extra cost.

I think you're missing a trick there Dave, IMO, hole coring is a specialist skill, and I charge for it. I don't see it any different to profiling or mitring.

I see it as ripping off , IMHO. Pipes are there to tile around , hole cutters make it easier not harder like we used to do , so why charge extra. ?

You're right there Bri, seen it on many fairly new bathroom refurbs I've done where tiles have been cut where centre of hole is, then nibbled out around pipe, then fitted back together around pipe in 2 pieces. Seen it round shower valves and this obviously lets water through the joint :mad2:

Ahh but, how many times have you seen a poorly cut hole, coz someone hasn't had the right tools to core round it? I know what you're saying but, I think it's an extra part of the service, not an inclusive.
