Name your aches and pains from the job you love... :whatchutalkingabout

I get regular joint aches from fingers through gripping trowels etc to achy knees on large floors, some nights after work i walk like a geriatric

Any good remedies..

I take a product called Optiflex Glucosamine HCI 1500mg a day, tends to help with joints, do notice a difference when I hav'nt taken them for a week or so.

All of the above Dave, permanent aching back and permanent ear ache from the Missus from always being away:lol:

Went to see an osteopath on Friday, well worth the £45 as my back feels loads better!

same as you dave, but my right knee that went very stiff,( thought i was on my way out of the job :yikes: ) has improved with constant walking of the dog , but i also have had tennis elbow in my left arm for three months, good job it's the left arm , the joy's of getting older

Fingers, wrists, elbows and shoulders always get me, just aching not particularly painful. Got trigger finger as well.

Broken skin on fingers from continal washing trowels between batches then exposure to cement... I simply can't do gloves! Dizziness, sometimes I can do a whole shift and forget to eat or drink then by end of day I really feel crap

Ahh shoulders... my AC has gone in my right shoulder, so lots of grouting gives me grief...

Neck, shoulder, back, knees, fingers, painful but I'm used to it. My head is the thing that worries me, the lack of respect for skilled people is ruining this trade. Rant over.:mad2:

Not got anything serious but do quite a lot of 12 hour days so come in aching all over sometimes.

Good old urine over the pinholed fingers is a cheap remedy.

That brings back memories Pete.:thumbsup::lol:

I have got hands like leather now.... takes a lot lot of sponge wringing to break skin...

i get continuous pain in my leg -back from a dislodged disc in my spine.Booked in to see a neuro surgeon after putting up with it for over 2 years .To solve it im gonna need an op and end up taking lot of time off which i cant afford.Or keep taking the painkillers and put up with it (Bummer)

my hands have always been great i have used everything, but two years ago i developed dermatitis on the tip of one finger so when i work it go's white and solid then it peels all over the tip then its ok then it starts again..........

My first post, so before i reply... Hi!

I have had 2 slipped discs for a few years now, i was giving up any manual jobs, but then my freind told me of a spinal block that she had, so i enquired, and had it done. Basically its similar to an epidural, they inject steriods and pain killers in the nerve, next to the ruptured disc.

80% success rate.
I had mine done, and its changed my life! I still get a sore back, but where as before it was always a 2 or 3 out of 10 on the pain scale, its now at worst a 2, and thats after a day of lifting. It also enables you to get physio, that fixes the problem, where before physio was out of the questionm due to pain levels!

Get it done!

Best thing about it, i was off work for 3 days including the op!

lower back gets me, after tiling a big floor i walk like ive crapped myself...

knees are nackered too, painfull and swelling up, i tend to live on painkillers and anti- inflamatory
pills...

must check that lottery ticket...

back pain on large floors ,but get the wife to walk on my back every weekend , gets the weekend off to a good start hmm

I get that thing where my finger locks straight and I have to manually bend it back.
Freaks me out.

Middle of my neck between my shoulder blades always aches after wall grouting.

I just medicate with some Crown Royal when I get achy.

Lately I have been getting a lot of pain in my index fingers - like arthritis and I can't crack those knuckles anymore without it hurting but it feels like it needs to be cracked.

Funny thing is I can lift my half of a 800 pound granite island on an install but if I try to tile a floor I'm crying like a little girl after an hour so I only tile back splashes for my customers.
