And I suppose the 12.5mm thickness of Schluter Kerdi-board (other thicknesses are available) is adequate for the wall beside the length of a bath with an overhead shower? (Wall would subsequently be tiled with metro tiles).

Each vertical timber in the stud wall has a thickness of 40mm and the space between these of either 280mm or 330mm.

I don't know how dense the Kerdi-board is.

I do have some Gyproc Sound-Bloc plasterboard, I suppose there shouldn't be any particular issue in attaching this to the stud first then attaching the Kerdi-board to this?
