Opinions on a floor prep
A customer took up old tiles ready for me to come in and discovered a piece of 5 mm ply under the floor it's only about a foot wide and runs about 3 metres so I took up the ply and underneath was a set of radiator pipes and the ply sat on two pieces of 2x2 so as the rest of the floor is concrete...- mike1979

something to watch if your new to tankng and want some opinions

Opinions needed...to brick or not to brick!?
To brick or not to brick..that is the question lol.. I have some 150x600 porcelain tiles to do in a kitchen its only going to be 2 high on 3 walls and then the full wall on the hob/cooker wall.. Would the brick layout look wierd only going 2 high? The tiles prob will have slight bows in them...- Martino

Decent Large manual cutter opinions
I have had a rubi 70 for quite a while now but recently on floor tiles i.e 600x600 porcelain it has no chance of cutting these...it just dont seem to have the breaking power....are there any manual cutters that would be a breeze for this type tile? heard these sigma's are quite good....always...- Martino

Travertine and BAL Micromax cocoa grout. Opinions?
I'm on a bathroom and showerroom/en-suite at the moment. Made a start on the grouting yesterday, and got the feature wall done in the shower. I've never done a dark brown grout with travertine before, so offering it up for opinions. -

Had Gary the Rubi rep in at work today, 45° trowel opinions ?
I think he is on here as he is on the TTA board. He very much rates these trowels and apparently zee germans have been bending old trowel combs over for 25 years to obtain a true 6,8,10...12mm bed ! Has anyone used them before and what are your opinions ? I was dubious until we had a chat... -
