I'm on a bathroom and showerroom/en-suite at the moment.

Made a start on the grouting yesterday, and got the feature wall done in the shower. I've never done a dark brown grout with travertine before, so offering it up for opinions.

Yes it's still wet Bri. Below is the only picture i took of that area today.

I know where you're coming from Neal. I think it's a bit of a marmite situation perhaps?

Thanks mate, i got given a free reign as to what to do with the feature area. I came up with a few ideas but this one was quickest and produced far less waste.

I like the end result and i do like the grout. But i think it's definately a niche taste. More will hate it than love it i'm guessing. But, it's nice to have a change from the softer neutral grouts with travertine.

I'm not normally one for dark grout on light tiles, but I actually quite like that. Did you cut each tile?

Yup. I brought a pallet and a half for the two rooms. Tiles were square cut, honed and filled, measuring approximately 305x305. I got two "bricks" out of each tile, and used 5 or 6 tiles to cut 40mm slithers for the feature.

Too dark for me, I like to see stone with a similar coloured grout. Lovely tiling though mate

Can't make my mind up! I've used that grout on a travertine look a like floor tile and liked it. Think I'm with Jamie, possibly a bit too much going on in a small area although it is nice to see someone not afraid to try something different:thumbsup:

I actually like this a lot, it shows the central feature of to its best advantage, frames the travertine well, and its a good complimentary colour. Ok thats the client/architect talk out the way. I really think this is a smart piece of work.

Love it, the dark really pics it out and reminds me of a mayan temple or something?
Lovely work on that detail section....what cutter you got?
More importantly, nice to see a Henry Hoover on the job, I love my mk1, on a set of custom wheels and has been repaired a few times but a proper trooper!!

I like the grout colour but I'm not over-keen on the tile feature, but thats just me. I like marmite too.
