I'd be interested to know what people think of their products , in particular the adhesives . I'm thinking of trying the aqua ultra ready mix on a bathroom ( red bucket ) .

Also the plastic ply , is it ok to use over floor boards ? Does anyone use it .

the plastic ply is designed to go over ply not floor boards, as for the adhesive if its for the floor then its no good. and to be quite honest not used a lot of nicobond products but what i have use i was,nt that impressed with

Ultragrip and Aqua ultragrip are both good adhesives with huge slip resistance we use nothing but ultragrip. Plastic ply was their new product around 18mths ago to replace overboarding wood floors. A few on here have given it a go and we have used it on smaller floors with no probs. Make sure you get aquainted with the install instructions and you should be ok.

Ha , yeah I actually trained with it - I'm guessing it's the equivalent of Bal green star ?

So am I right in thinking that the plastic it can be used over floor boards ( with no movement ) and other surface like laminate . If so it looks far easier / practical , if not slightly more expensive , than using ply.

I wouldn't go over a laminate with it as the laminate will be a floating floor

yes apparently you can put it over floor boards. personally im not convinced , im sure there is some on here who have used it. maybe wait for others to reply before you buy it

Never used it, I've read some on here have and thought it was okay, sticky as hell so i'm told. Although the fact about laminate still stands.

It says it's a 'reinforcement board' which might suggest to some that it strengthens the floor for deflection which I don't think it does.

I can't slate it as i've never used it, but over floor boards I would have thought the floor needs to be perfect, I can't see how it would get over cupped boards???

dont rate the tubbed adhesive at all. the grip is quite good but it wont hold tiles up imo. the bagged gear is good especially the rapidflex and glass tile adhesive. the uniqe is good for kitchens and doesnt need priming when going on plaster. but beware it sets in an hour

yes only once. tiles had a lot of slippage so i would use battens. i prefer the bagged stuff so hardly ever use tubbed

I have tried plastic ply out twice on small bathroom floors, and had no problems with tiles. I was recommended to use this on chipboard floors where owner does not want to lose 18mm with overply. Recommendation came from another local tiler so I thought it might be worth giving it a try.

Used their grout for the first time on Monday and it was spot on!
