Greggs were given the freedom of Newcastle a few weeks ago!

Weren't they in a documentary a few years ago. Something to do with dodgy pies or something? Them and about 6 other firms who were clocked serving dodgy food or something.

cooplands breakfast rolls are better , anyway , stockton high street is a joke , charity shops , pound shops and mobile phone shops is about it , and pasty shops as well :yikes:

the old high street has taken a battering the past year or so, people not paying prices and going to the muliples half a mile down the road!

As far as the recession goes its far from over. Just watch over the next 2 financial years, the public sector is going to take an absolute leathering. look at birmingham city council already.

Then the next costly thing no one seems to have thought about - is paying these guys there amasing pensions when they all retire.

Up here is going to get it hard, as 0% of the scottish workforce is public sector

Need to post facts before you make such comments Dan! Up here their pasties are used instead of dummies for the kids in pushchairs.
Of course I do have a bias as I was born in Gosforth where their first business started many years ago - and I've tiled a couple of their shops.

lol, tried to find it but it was a couple of years ago now. Wrights pies, greggs and a couple of others were in the program. I think it was around the time a program was aired about tesco, sainsburys and other stores selling cooked meat that they didn't prep properly.

Though yeah, I still ate them. 🙂
