Got my pick-up serviced today, new cam belt was what I'd booked it in for as it's up to 60,000 miles now. Amazing how many people have overlooked getting the cam/timing belt changed and then gone on to have a blown up engine. Anyway the full service and cam belt change weighed in at less than £500 so I think that's money well spent:thumbsup:

yes worth doing to keep it running & its all Tax deductible .........

I pump every penny into my beast. I'm a big believer in "If you look after your tools, they'll look after you"

got the white tank's second cam belt done not long after we bought it. it had done 140,000 miles almost at that point  it's just approaching 155,000 miles at the moment, having spent money on the cam belt, alternator, new battery and some work on the brakes but it still drives great. I'm with Gus, you have to look after your tools.

hubby wants to trade our Megane estate for a crew cab van next :yikes:

probably Doug 🙂 although he's very into Thomas the Tank Engine at the moment. Pete's thinking practicality, he's just passed an Early Years Foundation course, which is the first part of the process to become a child-minder :yikes: dunno how many kids he's thinking of looking after if he's thinking about buying a van...

Good God, the man's a masochist! lol!

I only do about 8k a year, so I reckon it won't need another service for 2 years and another cam belt in about 8 years, by which time I'll hopefully have a lwb defender:drool5:

I've just had a quick scan of autotrader for crew vans, and they're dirty and horrible. my darling child will not be transported in anything like that. Mr GRR will have to get a proper minibus
