field tiles underneath the mosaic border do not line up with field tiles above on toilet wall. not much in it but you can see i think unless it is angle of picture .
not sure how that could happen if full tile set off right side off vertical border and working away.
there is also a very thin slip of mosaic to right corner but this cannot be avoided unless mosaic sheets cut and stretched if working full mosaic off right vertical mosaic.

nop

Grain of the mosaics?

ok can see joint of mosaic just off lining up with field tile below and above but the starting point is just right of vertical mosaic . mosaics are not made to line up as can see half bonded after first tile would line up.
could argue that joints could have been stretched to avoid tiny slither cut i suppose but we are talking fractions.

grain of mosaics are different but cant see this on original pics.
one should not be expected to tear them off a sheet and refix individually.

Setting outs bad as looks like a full tile off each wall but then you've added a pic of the mosaic so that can't be it, looking on my phone at the mo so can't really tell but where the mosaics stuck on the back to front?

Ok so I got to the job this morning. Small kitchen floor the fitter had already give me the heads up on the job about carrying on the floor tiles from the ones that had been done by the builders tiler in the utility . Had a chat with the lady about the fact the utility was not square to kitchen so we could have a dog leg joint or raking cuts to the units.
She was a bit funny with me but went for the raking cuts to the units. I was trying to brake the tension by asking about the other tiling and she went of on one about how she wanted the other tiler to do the job but the kitchen company had insisted that there tiler did the job so I had better be as good as her tiler.
I took enormous pleasure in telling her that her tiler had put the mosaic tiles on back to front and the only thing holding them on was the grout. She was not happy at all.

Good lad Deano ha ha...... Lmao

To be honest the tiling was not that bad and the overall look of the room was good I just can’t understand how an obviously capable tiler can put the plastic face in to the adhesive.

Begs the question, are the mosaics gum paper fronted and are they stuck to the walls paper and all?

ok can see this now from last two pictures after my last post!!
these are much clearer .
were the tiles lined up below and above mosaic though.
certainly looks not so but maybe the angle of shot

just see this an noticed straight away the mosaic is back-to front ,but what was securing them on the front my guess is plastic film !s,so is this underneath ?

sorry just read the second page  i does make you wonder what the guy who fixed them was thinking, surly you would understand the plastic would offer no key, oh well they are out there

Not my balls up, but started a job today, a cloakroom/utility refurb. Started to take off the old 6'' white tiles and found that they was stuck on not one layer of wallpaper but TWO!

The backs of these mosaics remind me of Werthers original toffee - at least the grout is keeping them in.
