Diamond Pool Finishers

just wondering if anyone's sold any gold as the price is high and we all end up with bit's and bob's how much did you get and who did you sell to,?? i have got a right pile to sell :rockon2:myself £££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££ oh yes a tools raid coming on 😛rrr:

take it to a proper jewellers shop, as they'll give you thee right prices for the different carats. it can be a big difference in price between 18 and 22 carat. lot of dodgy people about buying gold atm, so be careful.

you should be able to find a gold price calculator online. like this;

Gold Price UK

may give you an idea how much you should be getting, though they are dealers prices, so you might not get so much.

Apparently Tescos are buying gold now.. i have just done a job for a jeweller and he said they are giving great prices..

has anyone sold !! with experiance then ? i worked out we have just under £2000 worth

i sold to a jewellers before, but nowhere near that much. i got just under 300 for mine for several chains, and some rings.
wouldn't go near the online buyers though, just check around to see what sort of money you should be getting. there's a website called money saving expert that should have several threads on it.

just looked at tesco price £7.81 per gr for 9cr it should be £9.91 so this is not very good thanks anyway!!

just google or ring a few places and get the going rate in grams, that way, you can decide who you want to sell to at the given time

dont bother with all these companies on the tv who say, 'send your gold to us bla bla bal, they just try it on and under value your gold hoping you dont know the rates.

a jeweller is a good place to sell but the more middle men you cut out the better!! ;0)
again, try a few and see who offer the best rate..thats all you can do really gooner.

ps, dont forget the rates fluctuate, so you need to decide whens the best time to sell!!

I have some gold to sell. Just waiting for the wife to fall asleep so I can prise it out her teeth.

I've spent the last 12 years replacing Lou's after some scumbag nicked it, hope he got a poor price as it was uninsured.

Anyone wondering why there is such a market for buying gold all of a sudden? Has it to do with the gold Chancellor Brown frittered away and they need it back, or because the government considers gold the only currency of any worth for the future?? What do they know what we don't? Who is using this gold for what? Think, people, there must be a reason for it, if it is wanted so badly hang on to it - and what better time to collect it than now that people are struggling - call me a cynic, but I'd prefer to look further ... and not a wise idea to advertise on here how much of anything you have gooner!!!

My wife left my gold chain in for a new catch 6 months ago.
She rang me saying before they fix it would I take £460 for it.
I said no, fix it.

The wife just asked me how much we could get for our 'Gold handcuffs'

I'am just pleased its only our Pearl anniversary this year and I'll have time to save for the 50th!

PS: Meant to say, I noticed the offers for buying gold a couple of weeks ago in Germany, too .. I have gone back to Germany once every year for the past 32 years and never have I seen this before. Something is going on .... keep your gold, is my gut feeling....

I know a lad who only last year even started collecting silver.
.999 silver coins were arriving all the time.
I offered to buy some but he wouldn't sell to me, lol.
Apparently massive rise in silver on way too.
Oh I wish i was rich.

Me, too .... I don't have any gold to sell anyhow, so the temptation isn't there, a good thing... 🙂

I have just been through all my dads jewellery and taken the sentimental sn decent stuff for insurance valuation. I had some other stuff that i wasnt sure about and couldnt read the hall marks on, which supiorsed me as some of it was worth a bit.

The stuff i want to sell i had previously weighed and priced via the web at £519 for an large 18ct necklace. I found the earrings to match (another 2 g) plus 2 9ct necklaces and a 9ct pendant of a horse (4g) They offered my £400 for the lot, im not selling it for that.

I never realised just how inflated the insurance valuations are compared to the probate/scrap values. I have a bracelt my dad bought his partner that he paid £450 for and they valued it at £1165. But if i was to sell it id get maybe £200 for the gold and diamonds.

I was told the reason for the price hike is the demand from the far east for its uses in manufacturing, same with all metals. supply and demands basic rules

I did a job at an electronics recycling place last year and they stripped all kinds of appliances for tiny amounts of valuable metals. From computers to toasters.

i sold my 1st wedding ring to a jewellers in liverpool, i only got 20 quid for it! it cost me 60 in 1993. i thought the price had gone up not down!

I just had a vision of Gooner and the vision was this...

yep about the same build,no beard, not as dark-a-tan, anyway what happend about that pool we give you a price for pebb,s ??? any new'!!!

Funny you should mention that Gooner, I spoke with the client yesterday and everything has come back to be re-specified as their client nearly fainted when he realised the total cost of the pool and the poolhouse came to 3 million. So its a re-pricing job, this time a lot cheaper...I think I'll start stocking up on the bumpy whites!

Pebbs
